Physical abuse
When you look at people around you,you dont realise what lurks beneath the surface.From
the outside,she seemed a happily married woman,doing well in her career,managing to
balance both worlds perfectly.Only perfect worlds dont exist.From many years,she has
been suffering physical abuse from her husband.The swine used to hit her even when she
was pregnant!!!!
As usual,becauseof kids,she bore this torture for many years.She called the police a
couple of times,but the jerk used to cry and say sorry and emotionally blackmail her.
Emotional creatures that we women are,we often put up with a lot of crap.From the
beginning its instilled in us that our lives begin and end with marriage !!!and we must
strive to save it at any cost.
Sometimes,because of society and sometimes because of kids and sometimes due to
financial constraints,women all over the world continue to suffer.These kind of events
happen everywhere-both among the rich and poor,educated and illiterate.
As long as we continue to tolerate,there shall be no end to this.
You know what, this story is so similar to one of my colleagues. Her husband used to beat her and she used to come office crying, and also used to miss office sometime.
But after some years, she call it quits. Though she is still not very comfortable getting a divorce she is staying separately, raising her two kids. Being single now she has the problem of neighbors useless guys, now trying to impress her, or trying to send her flowers and so on. I really dont know what I can do.
Hey,sorry to hear that.Being a single parent is difficult enough,without having to face jerks who think a single woman is an easy target!!!!
You could help her by being there and helping her to build her self confidence.Friends are the best support system.
