Perfect? No thanks
by Rashmi on Sep.18, 2009, under Uncategorized
In “Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna”,Rani leaves her perfect made to order husband and falls in love with a cranky egotistical married guy.In “Chasing Harry Winston”,Leigh breaks up with her perfect boyfriend and hooks up with someone not so perfect. In both cases, the problem was not that the guys werent good husband/boyfriend material but they just didnt love them.Does it strike you guys as absurd?
Well I for one, think that it takes a lot of courage to break away from something which everyone else thinks is absolutely wonderful.Because at the end of the day, what really counts is,what matters to you.
This funda applies to all aspects of our life.Everyone around us has an opinion about what is the best career for us,whats the best goal in life, whats the best decision, whats the best time to get married, whos the right person and so on…….But how is it the best thing for us if we are not happy. That is the best indicator, isnt it.
Are we happy about that choice/decision?Does it feel right? If the answer is yes, then stick with it and screw the opinions of rest of the world!:)

Today is all we’ve got
No forever promises
No claims of a bed of roses
No future and no past, just today
Today is all we have got…..
Baby, today I want to spend with you
I wanna scream with you
I wanna laugh with you
The clock’s ticking,just got a precious hrs few…
Lets go hiking on those blue mountains
Lets drink from those sparkling fountains
In the deep blue sea, lets swim with the fish
Hold my hands, and together lets make a wish…
Today is all we got…..
Lets race the wind, riding on our bike
Lets kiss the sky, lets touch the clouds
Lets watch the first rays of the sun together
Lets watch the sunset,on the beach, huddled together..
Today’s all we’ve got….
Lets talk,talk through the night
Lets dance,dance through the night
Lets drink, drink as a celebration of this night
Hold me in ur arms, baby, hold me through the night
Tomorrow u shall go ur way
And i shall go on mine
Today is all we got,
Today is all we got…
P.S: I was bored and going through some old mails and i found this poem i had written quite some time back and had sent it to two of my friends. Its kinda silly and romantic, but what the heck
Stranger in the mirror
by Rashmi on Sep.02, 2009, under Uncategorized
Afraid to forget,afraid to remember
The memories which tore me asunder
Yet somewhere,along the way
One by one they all slipped away
Only the scars that remain from those wounds
Serve as a reminder that I was ever bound
Even they seemed to fade away, until one day
I stumbled upon the stranger in the mirror
Hello there,stranger!Who are you,I wonder
You seem so familiar yet so distant
Like a long forgotten picture
Blurred, hazy and bent
I stare and stare at your image
But nothing stirs, not even if i reach among those depths
Was it really another era, another age?
You seem the same and yet are not the same
I see you on the streets and pass you by
Without a missed step,without a second glance
I am not avoiding you,I just no longer notice you
You are just another stranger, stranger in the mirror
P.S:My 100th post

Cynicism
by Rashmi on Aug.11, 2009, under Uncategorized
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.Lines from “Desiderata” by Max Ehrmann
I am trying to,but its becoming increasingly difficult as days go by.
