Stuck between a rock and a hard place

Everytime I attempt to lower the shields,I face those sharp edged swords again.Reminding me of my foolishness and naivety.There’s safety only behind walls.

Except that I fear I might get imprisoned in my own fortress…

Understanding

Being too sensitive to other’s needs and feelings
Putting others interests above mine
Trying to be a bigger person
Being understanding

I am no saint,but for my friends i always end up doing this.
I am sick of it!!!Now its time for others to do their bit.A friend had once said,
“Try and be a bit selfish”.Its time i heed that bit of advice.
