“Hi Honey,Hey beautiful” are some of the common ways of greeting
customers at the grocery store/shop.Strangers smile and greet you
and you greet them back!!!

Imagine this in India!People would give you a very bad stare if you
did that.One of my colleagues was narrating this incident.Used to
smiling at strangers,she was walking in a shopping mall,and later
noticed two guys who were following her taking her smile as a sign
of encouragement! and now the poor lady makes sure she has a very
stern look on her face,when she’s out on the streets in India!:)
